Autonomous Mobile Collaborative Robot "AutonMate"
Developed In-House, to the Logistics Center
~ Optimizing Workflows with Group Control to Reduce Worker Walking ~

LOGISTEED, Ltd. is pleased to announce the introduction and commencement of operations of the autonomous mobile collaborative robot "AutonMate" developed by our group company LOGISTEED Solutions, Ltd. at our group company’s logistics center.

Our group is working to optimize the key resources of warehouse operations, "workers" and "equipment," to improve overall warehouse productivity and provide stable logistics services even in an environment where the working-age population is declining. As part of this effort, we have been developing an Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) that assists with picking through collaboration with humans, aiming to reduce labor. AMRs, positioned as the next generation of Automatic Guided Vehicles (AGVs), can travel without guides and move autonomously while avoiding people and obstacles. Unlike AGVs, which require floor guides such as magnetic tapes or QR codes, AMRs can be introduced in a short period and allow for easy layout changes.
This time, we have introduced 16 units at the Kashiwa-no-ha Sales Office of LOGISTEED East Japan, Ltd. in Kashiwa City, Chiba Prefecture, and are working on labor-saving efforts by optimizing work lines.

Overview of "AutonMate" Picking Assistance

In traditional operations, workers pushed carts and moved between shelves while picking according to a picking list. With AutonMate, multiple AutonMates collaborate with workers to perform picking. Multiple AutonMates always move ahead and wait for the worker, who then moves to the most efficient location as instructed to perform picking. By working in conjunction with multiple AutonMates, the walking distance of workers can be reduced.

Features of "AutonMate"

1. Assists with picking by moving between shelves on the shortest route without congestion through group control and reducing worker walking and improving productivity.
2. No need for dedicated robot areas, eliminating the layout changes in the warehouse and reducing initial costs.
3. Users can create warehouse maps and set parameters using a handheld controller, making it easy to change warehouse layouts and reducing running costs.
