The LOGISTEED Group's First Installation of a Fuel Cell Truck
that Contributes to Realize Decarbonized Society

LOGISTEED, Ltd. (LD) pleased to announce that LOGISTEED East Japan, Ltd. installed fuel cell truck (FCV) for the first attempt in the Group.

The Group positioned “contribution to a decarbonized society,” as one of our material issues. We work to reduce greenhouse gas (CO₂) emissions and improve the efficiency of energy use with the aim of combating climate change and realizing a decarbonized society. As one of these efforts, we are promoting the shift to eco-friendly vehicles (highly fuel-efficient, low pollution vehicles).

The FCV adopted at this time is equipped with a power generation system which generates electricity by reacting hydrogen and oxygen. Since it does not emit CO₂ while driving, it is attracted attention as a next-generation environmentally friendly vehicle. LOGISTEED and LOGISTEED East Japan are participating in "Social implementation of hydrogen for the development of future cities in Fukushima"(*1) where we will cooperate in verifying the feasibility and practicality of using hydrogen fuel by using FCV in actual transportation operations.

(*1) A part of this social implementation is being carried out as a subsidized project by the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO), a national research and development agency, "Green Innovation Fund Project/Smart Mobility Society Construction." Through outsourcing from Commercial Japan Partnership Technologies Co., Ltd. (CJPT), which has received a grant decision from NEDO, we LOGISTEED Group plan to provide various driving data for optimizing hydrogen filling timing and grasping the amount of CO₂ reduction when replacing diesel vehicle transportation with FCV, as part of energy management research and development for the spread of FCV.

Specification

Vehicle size 3 tons
Cruising distance Approx. 200 km
Hydrogen filling amount Approx. 10.5kg
Filing time Approx. 15 min
Number of filing times Once a day
Filing place Fukushima, Japan

LOGISTEED Group has established medium-to-long-term environmental targets aiming for a 50% reduction in CO₂ emissions by FY2030 (compared to FY2013) and carbon net zero by FY2050. In this way, the Group will contribute to the realization of a sustainable society.
