LOGISTEED, Ltd. is pleased to announce that it has completed the transportation of the superconducting Toroidal Field coils (TF coils) for the ITER (International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor) project and has received an ITER Award commemorative plate from the Director General of the ITER Organization, and a certificate of appreciation from the National Institutes for Quantum Science and Technology (QST) in recognition of its contribution to the project.
ITER is an international initiative project aiming to realize the world's first nuclear fusion experimental reactor, with a site being constructed in southern France. Nuclear fusion is expected to be used for power generation by fusing atomic nuclei and utilizing the vast energy generated in the process. It is attracting global attention as a new clean energy source that does not emit CO2 and produces almost no High-level radioactive waste during generating electricity. The TF coils, which are the main equipment for realizing nuclear fusion power generation, were manufactured in Japan and Italy, and our company was responsible for transporting the nine (9) units procured by QST.In March 2019, our company signed a contract with QST and the French logistics company DAHER for the transportation between Japan and France. LOGISTEED handled the transportation from factory pickup to export customs clearance and sea transportation, while DAHER was responsible for import customs clearance and local transportation upon arrival in France. Through the cooperation of both companies, we successfully completed the transportation to the ITER site.
