LOGISTEED, Ltd. announces the launch of a new service designed to address challenges in the construction industry by integrating RFID* with SCLINK+, the LOGISTEED Group's supply chain management solution.
The service links RFID tag data attached to items in the supply chain with SCLINK+ to provide real-time visibility across the entire process, from procurement, storage, and transportation through delivery and installation. This streamlines the management of product and material locations and status, as well as the tracking of operational progress, helping customers optimize their entire supply chains.

  • * RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) is an automatic identification technology that uses radio waves to read tag data without physical contact.
  • Challenges in Construction Industry Supply Chains

In the construction industry, information on building materials is often dispersed across multiple Excel files, PDFs, and other sources, making it time-consuming to find and update the required information. Communication among the many parties involved, including manufacturers, distributors, procurement personnel at general contractors, and on-site managers, also continues to rely primarily on email and telephone, requiring significant effort to share information and confirm progress.
Against this backdrop, there is a growing need for an environment in which supply chain information can be shared in real time and all parties can work smoothly on a construction project using the same information.

    About SCLINK+

SCLINK+ is a LOGISTEED Group platform that centrally manages a wide range of supply chain information in the cloud, including orders, shipments, transportation, storage, and deliveries. Sharing information and managing progress on a common platform provides visibility across the entire supply chain. The platform can also link and manage documents, drawings, images, other data, and messages for each project. This allows users to access necessary information in one place and supports smooth communication among stakeholders.

Key Features of the RFID Integration

Integrating RFID with SCLINK+ links supply chain information to physical items, enabling users to track locations, movement histories, and status information in real time. By accumulating and analyzing this data, customers can identify lead times for building materials, detect the risk of process delays at an early stage, and use the information to optimize the overall construction project.

    Future Development

The service is currently in use at major construction companies and building services contractors in Japan, where it is helping improve the efficiency of materials management and process management and facilitating smooth information sharing among stakeholders. LOGISTEED plans to expand the scope of the service to include manufacturers' production logistics, as well as in-site transportation and installation at construction sites.

The LOGISTEED Group will continue combining the expertise developed through logistics operations with digital technologies to support the optimization of customers' entire supply chains, help realize sustainable logistics, and contribute to solving social issues.
