LOGISTEED, Ltd. is pleased to announce that it has received two awards at "the 30th Japan MH Grand Prize," hosted by Japan Material Handling Society. The Company's "Resource Control System 'RCS, ' Which Generates ROI*1 through the Effective Use of Material Handling Equipment at High Utilization Rates" received the Encouragement Award, while "LIB-CON, Fire-Resistant Container Enabling the Storage of Lithium-Ion Batteries in General Warehouses" received the Special Award.
The Japan MH Grand Prize recognizes and honors outstanding research, development, improvements, and rationalization activities by individuals, groups, and companies, with the aim of advancing technologies and theories related to material handling. The awards also seek to promote the development of related industries and encourage broader dissemination and awareness of material handling innovations.

  • *1ROI (return on investment): An indicator of how much profit is generated relative to the amount invested.
  • Resource Control System "RCS," Which Generates ROI through the Effective Use of Material Handling Equipment at High Utilization Rates

    Overview
RCS (Resource Control System) connects personnel, equipment (material handling equipment), and system operations through digital technologies to integrally manage and optimize the operation of an entire logistics center.
RCS consists of three subsystems: "RCS-Automation," which provides integrated control of material handling equipment; "RCS-Workforce," which visualizes personnel and work status; and "RCS-Simulation," which verifies operations in a virtual environment and optimizes resources.
    Case Study
This initiative was implemented at a logistics center operated by the LOGISTEED Group in the Kyushu region. By utilizing the three RCS subsystems, the center optimized personnel, equipment, and system operations, resulting in improvement return on investment.
In general, equipment at logistics centers is introduced based on anticipated peak demand. As a result, equipment utilization rates often decline during normal operating periods, making it difficult to achieve sufficient investment returns. Instead of relying solely on additional equipment to accommodate fluctuations in logistics demands, the center combined equipment control, work management, and simulation through RCS. This established an operating framework that enables equipment and personnel to be deployed flexibly and efficiently in response to changes in demand.
    Effects of the Initiative
    この表は横にスクロールが可能です
    Workforce
    • Achieved a 50% reduction in labor requirement in replenishment, storage, picking, inspection, and packing operations through the introduction of a proprietary controlled GTP *2 system.
    Processing Capacity
    • Achieved 1.5 times higher thruputs than conventional automated warehouse operations through the introduction of multi-station transport*3 and multi-picking.
    Equipment Costs
    • Improved processing capacity enabled the number of rotary racks to be reduced from 12 units to 8 units.
    • Significant cost reductions were achieved through shorter construction periods and a reduction in peripheral conveyor systems.

  • *2GTP (Goods to Person): A picking method in which goods are transported to workers instead of workers going to retrieve the goods.
  • *3Multi-station transport: A method in which collapsible containers retrieved from an automated warehouse are transported sequentially to multiple workstations without being returnedto the warehouse.
  • LIB-CON, Fire-Resistant Container Enabling the Storage of Lithium-Ion Batteries in General Warehouses

    Overview
"LIB-CON®" is a dedicated all-steel, fire-resistant storage container developed to resolve management issues associated with the storage of lithium-ion batteries (LIBs). The product has been confirmed*4 to meet the standards stipulated in Fire Hazard No.303 and has also obtained certification from the Hazardous Materials Safety Techniques Association (KHK). By meeting the prescribed requirements, LIB-CON enables the storage of LIBs in general warehouses, even when the volume of electrolyte contained in the LIBs reaches or exceeds the designated quantity regulated under Japan's Fire Service Act.

  • *4Operational conditions may vary by municipality. Please confirm with your local fire department in advance.
  • Key features of LIB-CON
    • Can be assembled without tools or additional parts. Assembly takes approximately one to three minutes.
    • Can be collapsed and stacked by container units when not in use, reducing height to approximately one-third of the assembled size.
    • Front-opening double doors allows easy loading and unloading of stored items. The Large Type features a detachable front panel.
    • Front base corners are designed to contain electrolyte leakage up to 450 milliliters in the event of a leak.

LOGISTEED aims to become the most preferred global supply chain solutions provider, and we strive to achieve new innovations by enhancing the core domain and expanding collaborative area across businesses and industries.
