Joining the "Consortium for the Implementation of Autoflow Road"
~ Leveraging Expertise in Automation Handling and Packaging design ~

LOGISTEED, Ltd. is pleased to announce its participation in the "Consortium for the Implementation of Autoflow Road," which is exploring the realization of unmanned and automated freight transportation using dedicated spaces constructed within the median strips of expressways.

Background

Japanese society currently faces a variety of issues, including labor shortages, natural disasters, and the need to reduce CO₂ emissions toward achieving carbon neutrality. In intercity transportation, traffic congestion in both metropolitan and regional areas causes significant economic and environmental losses. Additionally, the increasing trend toward smaller and more frequent shipments is placing a growing burden on logistics.
The Autoflow Road is primarily aimed at resolving the structural crisis in logistics. In addition to enhancing transport capacity and reducing driver wait times to improve logistics efficiency, it is also expected to contribute to environmental sustainability by improving energy efficiency and reducing noise and vibration.

About the Consortium

This consortium was established by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism to realize the Autoflow Road. Approximately 80 companies, including logistics providers, shippers, construction firms, and financial institutions, are participating. The consortium will examine the business feasibility of the road, technological development for implementation, and the ideal form of infrastructure development.

The role of LOGISTEED

We will participate in the Business Model Subcommittee and the Operations Subcommittee. Drawing on the expertise we have cultivated as a 3PL provider in automated cargo handling technology and packaging design and development, we will work together with other participating companies to advance discussions on stable transportation using conveyance equipment on the Autoflow Road.
