LOGISTEED Ltd. is pleased to announce its sponsorship of the "Catchball Classic 2025," an event organized by the Japan Professional Baseball Players Association (JPBPA), and its proud hosting of the qualifying tournament held in Kariya City, Aichi Prefecture, as a title-sponsored event.
The Catchball Classic is a competitive event that challenges participants on the accuracy and speed of playing catch, a fundamental aspect of baseball. It was established in 2011 as a way to support children affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake, who faced difficulties engaging in outdoor physical activities. Today, qualifying tournaments are held across Japan, culminating in a national championship where teams that have won their respective prefectural tournaments gather to compete. In this team-based competition, groups of nine players aim to complete as many successful throws and catches exchanges as possible within a two-minute timeframe. A key element of the sport lies in how well players can throw balls that are easy for their teammates to catch--an act that embodies empathy and consideration for others. LOGISTEED shares JPBPA''s vision of promoting both physical development and emotional growth in children through playing catch and is proud to support this meaningful initiative.
The LOGISTEED title-sponsored tournament, held on Sunday, September 14, welcomed participation from 29 teams and 343 elementary school students, who showcased the results of their dedicated practice. The winning team achieved a record of 115 successful catches within the two-minute time limit, earning a spot in the national championship to be held in Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture, on Saturday, December 6. Prior to the competition, former professional baseball players conducted a hands-on clinic, where children learned key techniques for throwing and catching the ball effectively.
