LOGISTEED, Ltd. is pleased to announce the introduction of electricity procurement via off-site PPA* at logistics centers of its group company, LOGISTEED East Japan, Ltd.
As part of its commitment to social responsibility, the LOGISTEED Group has identified "Contribute to decarbonized society" as one of its material issues. The group is advancing decarbonization projects in five areas: (1) Energy saving, (2) Electrification, (3) Procurement of renewable energy, (4) Energy creation, and (5) Emissions trading.
Until now, the company has promoted "on-site PPA" initiatives under the "Energy creation" category, installing solar panels on the rooftops of logistics centers within its premises. This time, it has launched "off-site PPA" initiatives under the "Procurement of renewable energy" category, purchasing electricity generated at remote solar power facilities. This enables the use of environmentally valuable electricity even at business locations where structural constraints make solar panel installation difficult.
Looking ahead, we plan to supply surplus electricity generated at our logistics centers via on-site PPA to other operational sites within the LOGISTEED group. Through the internal sharing of renewable energy within the group, we aim to further enhance environmental value.
